The short version: ChainClarity is reader-supported. Some articles contain affiliate links. When you click one and sign up for a service or buy a product, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Your trust matters more than affiliate revenue — here's exactly how this works.

Where you'll see affiliate links on ChainClarity

Affiliate links appear in two places on this site:

Within article text, marked visually by an underline in our accent color (green) and a small ↗ indicator after the link. Articles containing affiliate links display a green disclosure banner near the top of the article body.
In a "Tools mentioned in this article" section at the end of certain articles, listing the affiliate partners referenced in the text along with a brief description and a closing note about the affiliate relationship.

All affiliate links carry the standard rel="nofollow noopener sponsored" attribute, in line with Google's webmaster guidelines and the FTC's endorsement disclosure rules.

Our affiliate partners

As of May 2026, ChainClarity participates in the following affiliate programs. This list is intentionally short — we only partner with services we'd actually recommend to a friend.

Ledger

Ledger is the industry-leading hardware wallet manufacturer (about 40% global market share, 8 million+ devices sold). We recommend Ledger in articles about self-custody, cold storage, long-term holding, and seed phrase security. We do not recommend it when a hot wallet is sufficient for the use case, when amounts are too small to justify the cost, or in contexts where the article is dismissing hardware wallets.

Commission: 10% per hardware wallet sale, 30-day cookie window.

CoinLedger

CoinLedger is US-focused crypto tax software. We recommend it in articles about Form 1099-DA reconciliation, Form 8949 capital gains reporting, tax-loss harvesting, staking income tax treatment, and DeFi transaction tax. We do not recommend it for international (non-US) tax filing, audit defense (where a CPA is the appropriate answer), or contexts where the article is dismissing tax software in favor of professional advice.

Commission: 25% recurring on subscription payments.
Program operator: FirstPromoter (readers who sign up via our link receive an automatic 10% discount on their first report).

What affiliate revenue does not change

Editorial decisions. Article topics are chosen by ChainClarity's editorial process (currently a 3-stage LLM pipeline: Sonnet research, Opus writing, Sonnet review) based on reader relevance and research depth — not on affiliate commission rates.
The substance of recommendations. If a partner is the wrong fit for an article's topic, no affiliate link is inserted. The research and review stages explicitly block mismatched recommendations as critical issues.
Honest criticism. When our affiliate partners ship bad products, raise fees, suffer data breaches, or behave poorly, we say so. Affiliate relationships do not buy positive coverage on ChainClarity.

What we will never do

Promote a service we wouldn't use ourselves
Hide that a link is an affiliate link (every one is marked with rel="nofollow noopener sponsored" and a visible disclosure banner)
Take affiliate money for token launches, ICOs, or any product sold to retail investors as an "investment opportunity"
Insert affiliate links inside critical or neutral comparisons where the partner is being dismissed
Place affiliate links inside article headings, blockquotes, or any context implying endorsement that isn't there

Editorial independence

ChainClarity is run by Marcus Webb. All affiliate links on this site reflect editorial judgment, not commercial agreements with partners. No affiliate partner reviews articles before publication. No partner has paid for placement. No partner can request edits.

If you ever feel an article on ChainClarity has crossed the line from analysis into sales pitch, that's a bug, not a feature. Email us and we will fix it.
